National Labor Relations Board (NLRB)

The National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) is the federal agency responsible for enforcing the complex provisions of the National Labor Relations Act. Approximately 40 administrative law judges nationwide hear cases and render decisions on labor-related matters. The NLRB also investigates charges of unfair labor practices, facilitates settlements and provides oversight for union elections.

Multi-Generational Experience In Labor Law Spanning More Than Five Decades

At the Karmel Law Firm, our union-side attorneys have experience practicing in more than seven regional NLRB offices throughout the country. Since its founding in 1960, our firm has focused exclusively on employment and labor law. Our lawyers have represented some of the largest unions in the nation. We understand the industry, and we understand the challenges unions face amidst a pervasive anti-union climate.

Because union representation is at the core of our practice, we remain on the leading edge of the latest developments in this continually evolving area of law. Our attorneys are also involved in shaping legislation through various grassroots activities.

As experienced advocates, our attorneys represent unions in the many challenges they face.

Comprehensive Union Representation

We handle a broad range of legal matters before the NLRB, including:

  • Unfair labor practice cases: Our attorneys represent unions facing allegations of unfair labor practices through all stages of the process.
  • Election petitions and challenges: We also handle election representation and challenges to union elections.
  • Injunctions: Our attorneys have experience obtaining 10(j) injunctions under the National Labor Relations Act in federal courts.

We provide comprehensive representation through all aspects of the process, from filing the charges to the hearings before the administrative law judge to litigation before the board itself. We also handle appeals and enforcement proceedings in federal district and appellate courts.
