Brad E. Karlin

Brad E. Karlin brings an impressive track record of success in both civil and criminal litigation to his position as the head of the employment law practice at The Karmel Law Firm. As Senior Counsel, Mr. Karlin offers the breadth and depth of his extensive legal experience to every case he handles.

Prior to joining The Karmel Law Firm, Mr. Karlin had a distinguished career at both a world-renowned litigation firm and a private litigation boutique practice, during which he successfully secured favorable outcomes for clients in a wide array of civil and criminal matters. His remarkable work ethic and skill as a litigator were recognized when he was selected as a Top 40 Under 40 award recipient by the National Trial Lawyers and given the Top 10 Law award in criminal defense and personal injury law by Attorney and Practice Magazine.

Mr. Karlin also recently served as Senior Deputy General Counsel for the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation. In this role, he focused on complex legal matters, regulatory policy initiatives, and labor and employment issues, among other areas of responsibility. He also spent time working for the Illinois Department of Public Health, where he was instrumental in the development of administrative regulation in response to the Covid-19 pandemic.

In addition to his impressive professional accomplishments, Mr. Karlin has contributed to the legal field as a published author, assisting in the creation of textbooks used by legal students at the collegiate level.

Mr. Karlin holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Illinois, Chicago, where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa with Highest College Honors and Highest Departmental Distinction. He earned his Doctor of Jurisprudence (Cum Laude) from The John Marshall Law School in Chicago, now known as the University of Illinois Chicago Law.
